Georgie's Story

Meet Georgie 🐾
Georgie is a 50-lb, 2.5-year-old good boy who is fully vetted, crate trained, potty trained, and house trained. He’s affectionate, goofy, food-motivated, playful, quiet, and extremely snuggly. Personal space? He’s never heard of her. Georgie firmly believes he is a lap dog and will happily lean his whole body into you as one of his favorite love languages.

Georgie truly has never met a stranger. Despite everything he’s been through, he greets the world with enthusiasm, trust, and a wagging tail. He loves people, adores kids, and enjoys the company of other dogs. Because he can get excited and leans when showing affection, very small children could get accidentally knocked over, so supervision is important.

Georgie does have some resource guarding with food and toys, something we are actively working on with him. The good news? He’s a people pleaser, highly food-motivated, and eager to learn, which makes training very manageable in the right home. He would not be a good fit for a home with cats or very small animals.

Now for Georgie’s story, because it matters.

Georgie was originally adopted from a shelter in Oklahoma. Just days later, he was found as a stray again, this time suffering from severe burns across the top of his head, legs, and feet. When we were contacted, NTASR didn’t hesitate. This sweet boy needed help, safety, and a second chance. You can read more about his story on our Facebook page.

On top of his injuries, Georgie was also heartworm positive. He’s since completed treatment and is officially on the other side of that chapter. His burns have healed as much as they can, though he will always carry some scars from the trauma he endured. They don’t slow him down, and they certainly haven’t hardened his heart.

Georgie is resilient, loving, and so incredibly deserving of a home that will cherish him for exactly who he is. Scars and all, he is nothing but love.
If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a professional snuggler, and a dog who will look at you like you hung the moon, Georgie just might be your guy. 💙🐶
