Georgie's Story

Georgie came to Take Me Home in December after being found tied up outside daily. He was thin with his ribs showing and without the early basics most dogs take for granted. He has never been taught structure, boundaries, or how to be a house dog. George came to us knowing he’d need the right foundation: someone committed to training, consistency, and patience from day one.

George was adopted, but unfortunately the placement isn’t the right match for where he is in his journey, and we need to find him a new family. That happens sometimes. What matters now is making sure his next home is the right one for him, permanently.

George is a 2yr old German Shorthaired Pointer with a big heart and a lot of catching up to do. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on medical, vaccines, and prevents. He has a congenital defect on one paw. It has been cleared by 2 vets, causes no pain, and doesn’t slow him down at all, but he does hold it up.

He is not a beginner dog. He needs someone who will take training seriously; we specifically recommend Training Without Conflict (TWC) based on professional guidance. He needs daily physical and mental exercise, consistent structure, and firm, loving boundaries. Breed experience with GSPs or high-drive dogs is a real plus.

Due to his prey drive, George is best suited for a home without small animals, cats, or young children. If other dogs are in the picture, slow and careful introductions will be needed to assess compatibility.

Georgie wants to learn… He wants to be someone’s dog so badly! He just needs a human who’s ready to meet him where he is and put in the work. If that’s you, please reach out with serious inquiries only. He’s worth it.
