George's Story

George was dumped in an orchard in rural California with a group of small dogs. A rescue partner of ours there, rescued the whole tiny pack and steadily got them all adopted. All except George who was on the shyer side so he kept getting passed up.

George has been waiting just over a year to find a home and during that time he worked consistently with a dog trainer to build his confidence and skills. George is doing great now!

*** George's perfect home would be one with a single lady who wants a little dog to dote on her and be her little shadow. George has lived with a man before but tended to bark at the man in the home so we feel he would do best in a woman only home. He has been friendly with male visitors though and he is not aggressive, he just barks and then will retreat if there is a man living in the home. Young children also make George nervous so we would like to find him a home without young children. ***

- Approximately 2 years old and 12 pounds

- Likely a Chihuahua mix

- Calm, regal little guy who is polite and curious about people, other dogs and all the new things to see in a household setting. He just enjoyed snuggling on a bed and a couch for this first time and loved it!

- Slightly shy and is learning to enjoy petting and handling. George has never shown aggression when being handled though and he's a gentle guy. He is good for handling during nail trims and also at the vet for care.

- Has lived with other dogs and does well but can also be content as an only dog

- No cats for George

- Kids ages 12+ if there are kids in the home

- Excellent potty habits

- Crate trained. Can sleep in his crate at night quietly or would love to sleep in the bed with you!

- Loves his walks and walks easy on leash

- Likes to play fetch and also enjoy various little toys

- Snuggle buddy and is loving getting to burrow into blankets

- Good for car rides

George is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin.

$150 adoption fee
Fostered in Oregon City, Oregon

APPLY TO ADOPT GEORGE ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
