George is a good-natured old boy. He has lived with Gracie most of his life, but they are not bonded. He likes people, and gets along well with other dogs. He is still healthy and active. A true sweetheart.

Shep's Place Senior Dog Sanctuary's Adoption Policy

As a Sanctuary, our dogs are welcome to stay forever. But if a person or family comes along that is a good fit, and we believe that the dog would be better off with them, then we are certainly open to adopting them out. We require that a potential adopter fill out an application, meet the dog at our facility, and submit to a home visit. If that goes well, there is a two-week trial foster period, which either side can cancel. Hopefully at the end, our dog will be happy in its new home!

Our Mission

The mission of Shep's Place Senior Dog Sanctuary is to provide a home for old dogs in KC area shelters and rescues who have been unable to find an adoptive family.
