George's Story

Meet George -- the cutest Pyr on three legs.

George came to us in September after he was abandoned on a property with his family. Sadly, only George, his sister, and suspected father survived, and George was hit by a car in the meantime, which resulted in the amputation of his leg. Despite this tragic occurrence of events, George is an incredibly happy guy and nothing slows him down!

George, who is about a year-old, was adopted a few months ago and is coming back to us, as he just cannot get along with the cat. Therefore, his new home must be cat free. He has also been working through some resource guarding issues, and while much improved, his new home must be willing to continue working with him.

George is incredibly sweet with people and hasn't met a stranger. He does well in the car and loves going with you to run errands! He gets around well on three legs, and will even place his front paw on the counter to see if there are snacks, so if your pizza goes missing, he might be the culprit. He even does well navigating stairs, although, being he is still young, he sometimes has a tendency to go too fast and his face becomes his fourth leg.

George's ideal home will have a fenced yard. He loves to play fetch. He is doing well with crate training but also can be left in the house without destroying anything. He is also a snuggle bug and is happy to take naps with you on the couch and would probably love it if you wanted to share your bed at night.
George can be a bit protective of his family and can get defensive around other male dogs, so he would do best in a home with a laid-back female dog or as the only dog.

George is currently in Nashville, TN but can travel.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please apply online, at https://bigfluffydogs.com/dog-adoption/.
