Gemma's Story

MEET GEMMA

Gemma is a 4 year old Alaskan Malamute mix with a gentle heart and quiet strength. She came from Harris County and we believe she spent a long time surviving on her own. Because of that, she is still learning how good it feels to feel safe, loved, and secure.

Once Gemma settles, her loyalty runs deep. She is incredibly sweet, people focused, and naturally looks to her person for guidance and connection.

PERSONALITY

Loyal, gentle, and deeply people focused
Very intelligent and eager to learn
Calm, observant, and thoughtful
Forms strong bonds with her handler

Gemma thrives with routine, structure, and consistency. Slow, respectful introductions help her feel confident and successful.

She would be comfortable in a home with older children who understand how to respect a dogs space and cues.

Gemma has a high prey drive and will need a cat free home.

ENVIRONMENT & ADJUSTMENT

Gemma needs time to decompress in new environments and does best when given patience and consistency. Frequent changes have been difficult for her, and she is currently showing signs of separation anxiety, which we believe will improve in a calm, stable home.

TRAINING & POTENTIAL

Gemma is attentive, handler focused, and eager to learn. With professional guidance, she may be a strong candidate for task based or service style training.
