Gemma's Story

Gemma's past is quite sad. she was dumped and abandoned with her sister on a country road during winter. They were both so scared and traumatized. they both had to be trapped in a live trap. they are both currently in a wonderful short term foster home. She could use an experienced dog to guide her in her new home. Fenced in yard is required as she is a flight risk considering her past. Gemma tends to be a snuggle bug and bed hog! leash walking is a work in progress. She travels well in a kennel in the car. Gemmas new home must have patience and understanding that Gemma will be fearful of new people and will need time to adapt to new surroundings. She loves to play with other dogs and would be best suited for a home with no cats or small children. interested in meeting Gemma? please call the Benton County Animal Shelter for more info.
