GEMMA's Story
Gemma’s Grocery Store Rescue Journey Gemma was found as a stray at a local grocery store one evening. Unsure what to do, her finder took her home until she could bring her to the shelter. While with her finder, Gemma did very well with both her 10 month old and 10 year old children. She was kept in a crate and had no accidents, showing that she appears to be fully housebroken. Her finder brought her to the shelter hoping a microchip would reunite her with a family, since she had no ID. Unfortunately, she did not have a microchip. Gemma stayed through her stray hold and was never claimed. Although her finder didn’t mention having dogs in the home, Gemma has met another similar sized spayed female here at the shelter. The two greeted each other nose to nose with wagging tails, and soon they were ready to play together. We always recommend meet and greets with both dogs and children to ensure the best fit. This sweet and friendly girl is ready to leave stray life behind and begin a new chapter as a cherished family member. Please come meet her in person to see if Gemma is meant to be part of your family. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Adopters will need to establish veterinary care after adopting.
