Geico's Story

Geiko is 5 1/2 months old and currently weighs 28.6 pounds, right in that sweet spot of puppyhood where everything is full of curiosity, learning, and just a little bit of chaos. Around here, he's also known as "Brownie," a nickname that fits him perfectly, not just for his rich coloring, but because he's as sweet as they come and just as hard not to love.

Geiko is incredibly social and people oriented. He lights up when he meets new friends and genuinely wants to be part of everything you're doing. He plays well with other dogs and brings that joyful, wiggly puppy energy wherever he goes. Like many puppies his age, he is still teething, which means he can be a bit mouthy and chewy at times, but he has already started learning "no biting" and "off," and he's very capable of continuing that progress with consistency.

Geiko spent time in a foster home, which has given us a much clearer picture of his house manners and daily routine. He has a solid foundation and is currently fed three times a day. He is motivated by food and eager to learn, which makes him a great candidate for continued training.

Geiko is doing well with house training when kept on a routine. He sleeps through the night in a dog bed in the bedroom and will let you know when it's time to go out in the morning. He already understands "go potty" and "sit," and he is picking up on structure quickly.

One important piece to understand about Geiko is that he does not do well with kenneling for long periods. He finds it stressful and will bark and cry when confined, especially overnight or when left alone for extended hours. Because of this, he would do best in a home where someone is around more often, or where his time alone is limited and gradually built up. He truly thrives on companionship and wants to be near his people.

He also has a strong prey drive when it comes to chickens, so a home without them will be important.

At his core, Geiko is a happy, affectionate, deeply loving puppy who just wants to be close to his people. He is the kind of dog who will grow into an incredibly loyal companion, especially for someone willing to continue guiding him through puppyhood with patience and consistency. He is not a "set it and forget it" dog, he is a "be part of my life" dog, and for the right home, that is exactly what makes him so special.
