Gasper's Story

Gasper guy is one of the easiest e-list pulls we have had in a while. He is so sweet, but just a little shy at first. He came to the shelter as an owner surrender with his buddy, who was adopted leaving him all alone to shut down and be e-listed. They had spent their entire 3 years together in a backyard before this. He “pancaked” in fear while leaving the shelter from all the scary sounds and strange new surroundings, but has opened up and blossomed beautifully in his current home!

He is very shy when meeting new people, but is very friendly and playful when he gets comfy. They say he is very mellow at home, and is very content to just lay at your feet if you work from home. When walking, he can pull pretty strongly on a leash if he gets motivated. He has been good with the other dogs in his foster home - it’s really just the cats that have caused the issue. He has sniffed and not tried to bite them, so it may just be curiosity, but he has a very strong fixation and always wants to go towards them to a point his first foster wasn't comfortable. Thankfully, he was able to move to a new foster home!

He has learned to sit for treats and is playful, loving and trainable. Gasper would be good with older kids who understand basic dog behavior since he is just a little shy at first. He’s a very sweet boy, and we know he will make many homes very happy!

Adoption Application: https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/
