Gasper's Story

Gasper was found alone on the streets, underweight and struggling to survive on his own. Thankfully, our team rescued him and helped him regain his health and strength. This sweet boy has since received a full dental cleaning, has been neutered, and is up to date on all his vaccinations—he’s now ready to find his forever home.<br/><br/>Gasper is currently learning potty training and is making great progress. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, making him a wonderful companion in a multi-pet household. While he may be small and incredibly adorable, he would do best in a home with children over the age of 8.

Island Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy

After completing our brief online application we will talk with you to learn more about you, your lifestyle and your ideal pet so that we can match you with the perfect dog or cat. We may request a virtual tour of your home or, in some cases, an in person tour. Meet and greets are done with the foster at a location agreed upon. After a successful meet and greet, you can choose to start a trial adoption that will last up to 5 days. After the trial adoption we will either finalize the adoption or return the animal to our foster program. We have a trainer and behavorist that are part of our volunteer team should they be needed to successfully transition your new pet into your home.
