Gary's Story

Gary is fully ready to find a home! He is really starting to open up to me now.

He is a very handsome Border Collie. I would guess around 2 years old. He is a bit nervous of humans, but is going up to everyone for pets! He did wonderful at an adoption event at Tractor Supply. He made a lot of friends, human and k9. He loves other dogs and playing. He is submissive meeting other dogs. He plays so gentle with Bindi(female pitty). Sometimes he does pinch the other dog hard with his teeth.

He was neutered and up dated on vetting July 14th, 2026. He is also microchipped.

He has not been cat tested. He seemed to like kids at the adoption event.
He is getting use to the leash but still needs more work on on.

He has started coming in and out of the house on the regular now, but is mostly outside. As of right now he would love to be a farm dog, but also loves the AC in the dog house on these crazy hot days.
I have brushed him some and we got the mats off of him. He doesn't care for being groomed, so we have not bathed him or gotten him to a groomer, but it is on our to do list as he opens up.

He is funny and likes to try to take your phone if you leave it lay around. He also drags the dog house blankets all over the yard. He is bored and needs something to do.

He is good with my 4ft fence.

Rides well in the car.

Recently discovered he does like to swim in the pond! But does not like the dog pool.

Ideal home would be a country home that would allow him to have outside time, but provide appropriate shelter, maybe a shop or a garage he can go in and out of? We are very open to him becoming a house dog, we just know he would still appreciate outside time too! We know he isn't a runner, so a country home would not require a fence, but we also know he has no fear of the road/highway. So if no fence, it can not be near a road. In town home would need a fence

Waverly Mo

$150

If interested in adopting please fill out an application on our website fofanimalrescue.org. Then email to LauraMaeStephens03@gmail.com

Let's get this boy to a forever home!

*back story on Gary. He was found in May and no one ever claimed him. He was on the run for a week and then took up residency in a barn until I finally picked him up mid July. I posted him the entire time and was not able to find an owner, rescue, or adopter. Another border collie was found near by the same time he was first spotted, so we assume they were dumped from the same home, but no way of knowing. So sadly we do not know his history.
