Fruitcake's Story
Meet Fruitcake
Fruitcake was rescued from an overcrowded shelter where she was at risk-and very pregnant. Shortly after arriving in her foster home, she gave birth to ten puppies. Despite being frightened and unsure, Fruitcake proved to be a truly devoted mama, allowing her foster mom to help care for her babies while she focused on keeping them safe and loved.
Fruitcake is still learning that humans can be trusted. When her foster family comes around, she greets them with happy tail wags and sweet little nose boops, but she is not yet comfortable with being touched or petted. She will gently take treats from hands, which shows just how hard she's trying. She does not walk on a leash at this time.
Fruitcake would thrive in a quiet, patient, and understanding home-one that will let her move at her own pace and never push her beyond her comfort zone. With time, consistency, and kindness, she has the potential to continue blossoming. She is already comfortable using a doggie door, which is a great start.
This special girl is looking for a very special home-one that believes in her and is willing to give her the grace and patience she deserves.
