Meet Froy

Meet Froy!

Froy is a lovely, sweet, 4 year old GSD who came to Indigo Rescue in very sad shape. Her owner passed away and she had terrible skin allergies which had caused her to lose all of her hair. Her skin was purple and inflamed. She was not well socialized with other dogs.

Enter the beauty of a loving foster home! We found a good quality food for Froy and her foster used a medicated shampoo and rubbed coconut oil into her inflamed skin. Froy responded wonderfully! Within less than a month her skin was recovering, and now, just a few months later her coat has grown in beautifully. Froy did turn out to have a hypothyroid contributing to her skin issues so she will need to continue taking an inexpensive medication for that.

Froy is a sweet girl who true to her breed, is her human’s shadow. She has learned how to play and interact with other dogs in her foster home and now she loves playing and wrestling with another dog and can even stand her person being out of sight as long as she is with another dog companion :-). Froy is a bit of a toy hog but she doesn’t resource guard, she just likes to collect them all around her.

Froy gets along very well with dogs who are friendly and playful. She can still be barky when other dogs bark at her while on a walk, but she is easily redirected. She responds well to good leadership.

This girl is a real gem.

Our criteria for placement of Froy are; a commitment to her quality diet and thyroid medication, a securely fenced yard, a human or humans with dog leadership skills, and a friendly dog companion who is not a senior dog. The exceptions to the dog friend is someone who isn’t gone all day and can still get her regular interaction with a doggy playmate.

Adoption Process: We are not first come first served. Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. We deliver all dogs to their new homes. All of our dogs are in foster homes. If you’re interested in meeting one of our dogs, please go to our indigorescue.org website and complete our Adoption Application under the Adopt tab. You can either scan your completed application and email it to us at: info@indigorescue.org, or you can fax it to us at: 888-502-7660.
If the dog you're interested in seems compatible with your lifestyle we'll set up a time for you to meet the dog privately.
PLEASE NOTE: Indigo Rescue only adopts to homes within 30 miles of Beaverton because our volunteers deliver all of our dogs to their adoptive homes. We work very hard to create a family of our Indigo Rescue adopters because we want to be close enough to help in case there are any problems. We want everyone to be happy and successful!

**ALL of our dogs, puppies, cats, kittens and rabbits come vaccined to their age, spayed/neutered and microchipped.

Thank you for your interest in adopting and saving a life.
