Frost's Story

Frost is a recent addition to our Second Chance program. He is a 1 and 1/2 yr old male Great Pyrenees mix that weighs 64# and has a happy-go-lucky personality. Frost is fine with other dogs – if another dog barks at him, he will just walk away; we think he could go to a home with another dog, or he could be an only dog. He ignores the cats. He is friendly meeting new people, but hasn’t been around any children yet. We think Frost might have been kept as an outdoor dog, but he is acclimating to becoming an indoor pet. The first day or so he didn’t know how to get up the stairs – once he figured that out, and was on the second floor, he didn’t know how to get down again. Didn’t take long for him to master that. He’s only had one accident in the house – gets out 4-5 times/day (or more), sleeps in a kennel overnight, and gets restless when he needs to go out. He follows the lead of the resident dogs when they come back into the house, or when he sees his person, but is still learning his new name. Frost would benefit from obedience training, as he doesn’t respond to any of the usual commands yet. He doesn’t have much car experience yet, and the foster mom has to help him into the vehicle – rides fine once inside. 0K walking on leash – doesn’t pull. Discovered the toy box and emptied it, but chews on toys rather than play with them. He’ll need approved things to chew on. A fenced yard would be ideal because Frost LOVES THE SNOW !! He will sometimes bark when he sees people or another dog walking by the yard, but otherwise is quiet. Frost is a very loving dog with an easy-going disposition…….he tries to please you. <br/>Frost is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), and microchipped. He can be adopted for $350 . Had a dental cleaning in November - no extractions. Call 651-771—5662 if you’d like to meet him.
