Frida's Story

Meet Frida: The Sweet and Silly Shepherd Looking for a Forever Home!

7 year old, 60lb Frida was surrendered by her owner to the shelter back in March of 2025. She took to volunteers as they found her to be friendly, gentle, and affectionate. Our team at Dog Coalition LA saw her in shelter play groups where she was playful, confidant, and tolerant of other dogs. Thanks to a dedicated foster we were able to place her in a foster home in May.

Frida has made great strides in her foster home where she has been able to decompress and learn all of the doggie skills that make her a highly adoptable companion. She is potty trained, crate trained, has great house manners, and is greatly improving her leash-walking skills. Frida loves her crate and sleeps through the night without a peep. We would describe her as medium to low energy: her favorite activity is napping on a cozy dog bed or munching on a piece of broccoli! She is extremely social and affectionate, while also respectful of boundaries and space.

Frida is fostered in a home with other dogs. We believe that with the right match Frida could be an excellent addition to a home with another dog or dogs, and we’re happy to chat and do a dog meet if you think she could be the right addition for your family. We also believe Frida would do well as a solo companion. We would like to see Frida in a home with a yard.

What You Should Know About Frida:

-A sweet and friendly shepherd gal looking for a home to call her forever!

-Low-Medium energy, connected, easy-going around the house and well-mannered.

-Frida might be nice for a calm and quiet household where you work from home or away.
