Freya's Story

Freya is a nearly 2 year old female mixed breed dog, who came to the shelter due to no fault of her own. Her previous owner cited her being unable to contain Freya as the reason for surrender. She came to us heavily pregnant, and within a week of drop off, had a litter of 5 healthy pups. She was excellent with staff through the whole process, has been a great mom, and is now ready to find a great home of her own. She is medium sized, and once back to her normal body weight, she will likely be a 50-55 lb dog. Freya lived with other dogs in her previous home, and got along with them but has not been great with strange dogs here (but had puppies with her and/or pregnant) we are now beginning to explore dog meet and greets with her to see how she will do. She lived with children in her previous home, but recommend older children or adult only household now that we've gotten to know her. Her adoption fee has been paid by a generous donor, so she is FREE to an approved adopter. She is now spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Please stop by the shelter to visit and adopt, or call/email with questions: 630-553-9256 or animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov
