French Fry is a brindle girl of about two to three years old and around 35 pounds, with a dark coat marbled in chocolate and caramel, a white chest, and a wide soft face that goes looking for yours.<br/><br/>She came to us as a stray, so her past is a blank page. What we know for certain is how she feels about people. French Fry is incredibly affectionate, the kind of dog who leans her whole body into you the second you offer a hand and would happily stay there all afternoon. She takes in every bit of kindness she is given and hands it right back.<br/><br/>One honest note about other dogs. On leash she reacts to them. She has not had a real introduction to another dog yet, so we cannot tell you how she would do living with one, only that walking past one is hard for her right now. Her adopter should plan on doing that leash work rather than assuming it is already done.<br/><br/>Being straightforward about her in one more way: she can get a little mouthy. For that reason she is looking for a home without small children while she works on her manners. Older kids who understand how to give a dog space are a different conversation, and we are glad to have it. She has not been around cats that we know of, so we cannot tell you how she would do living with one.<br/><br/>She is compact and sturdy at her size, and she fits homes a bigger dog would not. For a young dog who was on her own not long ago, she has an awful lot of love saved up and nowhere to put it yet.<br/><br/>We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
