Freddy's Story
Hi! I'm Freddy, and I've been told I'm the total puppy package—sweet, smart, and ridiculously adorable (their words, not mine...okay, maybe mine, too!).

I'm about 10 weeks old, weigh 12 pounds, and I'm expected to grow into a medium-to-large-sized dog. No one knows exactly what breeds I am, which makes me extra special—a surprise package!

My story started in Tennessee, where I was found all alone behind a Freddy's restaurant (that's how I got my name!). After a pit stop at a shelter, I hopped on my freedom ride to Illinois with Safe Haven Dog Rescue, and I've been living my best puppy life ever since.

My favorite thing in the whole world? Being outside! Give me a backyard, a walk around the neighborhood, or a future camping adventure, and I'm one happy pup. I love exploring every leaf, stick, and piece of mulch I can find. Nature is pretty amazing when you're seeing it through puppy eyes!

I'm living with another dog and two kids right now, and I love everyone. My foster sister is my hero—I follow her everywhere and would love a dog sibling in my forever home, but it's not required if you'll spend lots of time teaching me all about being the best boy.

I'm pretty polite for a puppy. I rarely bark, sleep through the night in my crate, know how to sit, and I'm doing an awesome job with potty training. I even ring a potty bell when I need to go outside! I'm smart, treat-motivated, and love learning new things.

I can be a little shy around loud noises or sudden movements, but with a little patience and encouragement, my confidence grows every single day.

If you're looking for a calm, affectionate puppy who's equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle companion, I think we'd make the perfect team.

So, what do you say? Ready to make me part of your next adventure?

Love,

Freddy (Professional Explorer and Outdoor Enthusiast)

Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip.

To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed.

Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process.

To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.
