Freddy D's Story
Meet Freddy D! This professional sleeper and part-time literary icon, looks exactly like he just stepped off the set of PBS cornerstone “Wishbone” and decided fame was a little TOO exhausting.

Freddy is a bright, social boy who adores meeting new people and soaking up love and attention. He's also curious - at the vet, he continually tried to dart through any open doors, not to escape but to explore, take notes for future TV show ideas, and make new friends.

Freddy doesn't require a lot of exercise but he is plenty mobile. He's good on a leash, can go up and down stairs, and is a great copilot in the car. He doesn't mind staying home alone while his humans are out and gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home - though he'd do best in a home without bossy dogs.

Freddy is looking for a home that is generally calm and quiet, has lots of soft beds and blankets for snoozing, and humans to lay on the couch with. He loves wandering the yard as well as going for a daily walk, and is always interested in what's going on around him. He gets the cutest little bounce in his step when his foster mom comes home and tries to race her to the back door!

Freddy has some kidney issues and while his bloodwork has improved dramatically since coming to the Haven, he'll need to stay on special kidney food for life and his vet will need to keep an eye on his bloodwork going forward. Due to his kidneys, Freddy has to pee a lot so he does best rocking a belly band around the house.

Freddy is very sweet, takes correction well, and just wants somewhere soft to lay his head. He is happy to hang out on the couch with you for as long as you want. He also looks very spiffy in a sweater. Apply today to meet him!

Freddy is approximately 9 years old and 13 lbs.

Fostered in Richmond, VA
Please apply at MirisHaven.org
