Fred's Story

Hi, I'm Fred, your future shadow and full-time best friend. I'm 10.5 months old, a proud Dachshund/ Dobie (best guess) mix, and I take my job of loving my humans very seriously.

My favorite place? Wherever you are. I could be completely knocked out, but the second you move, I'm right behind you. I just really like being near my people, it's kind of my thing. I've got a playful side too. Toys are a big deal to me, and I've got the energy for games, zoomies, and keeping you entertained. Once I've gotten my playtime in, I'm all about curling up next to you on the couch for some quality snuggles.

I'm still working on my potty training, and I'm trying really hard. I'll need a family who can help me stay consistent and keep building those good habits. I'm a smart guy, I just need a little guidance. I also have a pretty strong prey drive, so a home without cats would be best for me. If it's small and moves fast, I'm probably going to notice it.

At night, I settle into my kennel really well and sleep through the night. I might whine just a little before drifting off, but once I'm out, I'm out. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, playful companion who will happily follow you from room to room, I might just be your guy!

If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website and complete an adoption application at www.elpasocountycanine.org/adopt

El Paso County Canine Rescue's Adoption Policy
Please bear with us as we process applications! We are working on changing our processes to function during the COVID-19 outbreak. We have had a big increase in people wanting to adopt (yay!) so it's taking us a bit of time to get through the applications. We work on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must apply for adoption before you will be able to meet with a pup. If you meet with a dog and decide to adopt, we can process your adoption right then and you can go home with your new family member! Thank you for adopting from us and saving our sweet dogs!
