Frannie's Story

If considering opening your heart and home to Franny, please read this lengthy post. Franny is a 2yo, petite female at 40lbs. Contact Melody Reese if interested in adopting Franny.
Background: Franny was rescued from a field using a dog pole. She was afraid of everyone and everything. Her rescue parents and I still compare theories. After 3 months of observation, I think she was a house dog that got dumped or ran away. I don't feel she was socialized at all, cooped up, expected to be a lap dog. No clue how long she was scavenging, but when found she only weighed 28lbs.
Quirks:
Loud noises, small dogs, dogs that continuously bark and sudden movements. She did okay around my 10yo grandson. The 4yo was too much and she hid.
Does not like total darkness.
Will only eat meals when no one's watching. Same with treats.
Shows interest in outdoor toys but doesn't know how to play. She hides when seeing a chuck it stick.
Positives:
She loves to get love! Sit beside her initially and pet her. She'll nudge you to continue if you stop. She'll start coming to you for pets.
She's smart. Knows how to use a dog door. Understands "kennel up" means to go to your run door.
She does very well with other dogs unless they're spastic barkers.
No aggressive behavior.
No potty accidents in her kennel.
I've not heard her bark.
Her Perfect Home:
A fenced yard is a must.
Has an open crate or safe place she can retreat when overwhelmed.
Gives her time to decompress on her terms. She advanced thru the Rule of 3 quickly. She a thinker and pays very close attention to her surroundings.
Summary: Franny is a great dog and also answers to Annie. She has such a sweet disposition and will blossom in no time with the right family. She just needs patience, consistency and grace.

Clancy's Dream Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When you adopt any companion animal, especially a rescue, it is a commitment that will affect your lifestyle for many years to come. Do you have the time, energy and resources necessary to devote to a new member of the family? With good care, most Border Collies will live 10 to 17 years. It is critical that you consider what is likely to be happening in your own life — before you adopt a pet. If you can provide a healthy, safe and loving home and would like to adopt a Clancy’s Dream rescued Border Collie the next step is to read our Adoption Process Quick Facts and then complete the Adoption Application. Please note that the application is not an agreement to adopt a pet. Improper placement can end tragically — usually for the dog. This comprehensive application helps us to place the right dog with the right family. An adoption interview will be scheduled either by phone or in person upon review of the application. The level of experience required, need for a fence, adequate exercise space, hours the animal may be left alone, young children and other pets in the home, etc will be discussed in the adoption interview and will be determined according to the need of each dog.
