Franklin's Story

Meet Franklin!! Franklin had a rough start to life, but times are a changing for this handsome boy! Backstory: His humans moved and left Franklin along with 8 or 9 siblings - only two are known to have survived. Franklin is a testimony to the resiliency of dogs. He loves to be loved. He's submissive and adores belly rubs. His foster mom describes him as very mild tempered. We are so grateful for foster families who open their homes even when the situation isn't ideal. Their dogs aren't always welcoming to new pups, but the family is taking it slow and Franklin is handling it like a champ. He's super loving and just wants to lay on the couch and cuddle. We doubt Franklin has ever been inside a house and was hesitant to enter. With winter bearing down on us, we're beyond happy he is no longer living outside. Because Franklin never knew where his next meal was coming from, he's showing a little food aggression which is understandable and can be managed. Foster mom and dad are working on potty training. Franklin goes outside frequently and has has no accidents in the house. Franklin would be fine in a household with kids & other dogs. He hasn't been around cats. Franklin is approximately 2-3 years old and weighs around 60 lbs but is on the thin side, neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting/foster to adopt or adopting Franklin, please submit as adoption application.

Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC's Adoption Policy
All of our dogs are fully vetted (vaccines), parasite free, and altered (spay/neuter) prior to adoption, no exceptions.  Most dogs are microchipped.  Puppies must wait until 16 weeks of age to be adopted as this rule applies to them as well.  Completed vetting paperwork is presented at the time of adoption. Dirt Road Doggies are fostered by compassionate families.  With intricate knowledge of our dogs personalities, we work very hard to make each adoption a forever family by matching the adoptive families needs with the dogs.  We want each adoption to be successful.  Each adoption contribution is $250 per dog.  We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog.  We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them.  Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.
