Frankie's Story

🐾Meet Frankie🐾

Frankie is a 1 year old Boxer/Lab mix and he is ready to find his furever home!

Frankie is up to date on all vaccines, deworming, prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered soon. He is available for pre-adoption in the meantime! He was surrendered to us due to him knocking over the small children in the home. It was made clear that he didn't show any aggression, he just is still a young, excitable boy and doesn't quite know his strength!

We're told he did great with the family's older kids (6+), all people, other dogs, and cats (though he does chase them playfully). They said that his favorite things are being outside, crawling in small spaces, and is very curious, adventurous, and hyper! They said he doesn't realize his size and loves to cuddle.

So far, Frankie has been very scared staying at the shelter and he's a vocal guy, so he likes to bark when he's unsure about something/someone. But it doesn't take long to realize that he is actually just a sweet, goofy puppy! He likes to talk even with the people he likes, and its cute getting to know his personality. He is VERY affectionate and cuddly once he trusts you! He does still need some work on potty training and leash training.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application on our website or in person. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. We are open Wed-Thu 12-7 and Fri-Sun 12-4 if you'd like to come visit!

Warrick Humane Society's Adoption Policy
The Warrick Humane Society is a no-kill organization. Once an animal is rescued by WHS, it is saved for life. We will not release an animal to another organization that has a policy of euthanasia. In addition, we will only place animals with qualified prospective owners. We do not adopt out dogs or cats that will be kept outside. We only want loving indoor homes for our pets. We do thorough checks on all of our potential adopters before sending them to their fur-ever home. We also require that if you adopt a pet from us and are no longer able to keep it that it be returned to us, so that we can find it a new home.
