Frankie's Story

This girl was always meant to be a diva so you'd never guess she was found so dirty and matted in a park in Seguin, Texas, that she was named after Frank Gallagher in Shameless and they didn't even know she was a girl until they shaved her down.

Frankie is a diva that actually loves kids! She chooses a kiddo as her person, will wait for them to get out of school, knows their schedule. When they get home, she likes to play dress up! She is good with other dogs but can be sassy, has some big britches; will play but is bossy. She likes taking toys away from other dogs.

Frankie is ok in the crate, if needed, but the diva prefers not. She MUST have wet found mixed with kibble or will go on a hunger strike. She's about 80% potty trained, but you'd better not say anything.

Our best guess is that Frankie is perhaps a Shih Tzu mix- but playing 'guess the breed,' for street dogs is really hard!

Frankie is currently living in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, awaiting an adopter or open foster home in Colorado to bring her up and into their home.

***Frankie is being posted on behalf of our partner rescue in Texas- the process and adoption will go through them. The adoption fee does not include the transport fee (usually $125-200/dog).***

Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio.
