Their family had very young children and the boys were not doing well with having these young children around, so they were surrendered to us to find them a home with no small children in the family. These boys truly are brothers from different mothers. They are a bonded pair!<br/><br/>Frank-e does not like loud noises such as firecrackers, sirens, or screaming children. He does not like going out in the rain. He likes covers and blankets and he loves squeaky toys!<br/><br/>Chimmey loves the snow and belly rubs. He's very food motivated. He does like to bark and run around with other dogs. He doesn't really care for toys but loves his brother Frank-e.<br/><br/>They both take a little time to warm up, but once they do, they are fine. They love the doggie door, and it would be great if you have one. Unfortunately, Frank-e lost 16 teeth at his dental, but Chimney lost none, though he may lose a couple at his next dental in a year. With small mouths, its important to have yearly dental checkups. They are both up to date on all their shots and dental care. <br/><br/>If you are looking for a new family, then these boys would be perfect. We are glad to communicate with you about them if you are truly interested in adopting. You can't go wrong with these two. They have both been groomed and Frank-e is very leery about grooming due to possible rough handling, but Chimmey does great. <br/><br/>Our must-haves for this precious bonded pair include:<br/> - A fenced yard; a doggie door would be great too<br/> - Someone who could be home more often than not<br/> - No apartments, high-rises, duplexes, or condos since Dachshunds can and will bark<br/> ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============<br/><br/>AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime.
