Francine's Story

My name is Francis but my people call me Fran.<br/>I can from a hoarding case in Memphis where I lived locked in a cage with dozens of other dogs. Due to this I didnt get socialized and struggled with trusting humans. Now that Ive been with my foster family Ive learned to trust and love my humans and dog friends. I prefer to be in my quiet crate and Im not one to crave being petted, Im more of a curious hand sniffer with just a little head scratching. My mom says Im just a funny turned independent girl. I just want a quiet place to spend my days. Im fully vetted and potty trained, and Id love a doggie door at my future home so I can come and go as I please. It takes time for me to warm up to new people, I am a skittish gal. I love my freedom to run and nap frequently, and I love to bark at the birds. I have lots of dog friends and I have to have a fenced home cause I do have a history of being quite the runner.

Knox Vintage Pet Project's Adoption Policy
We have a written application all potential adopters must fill out. Once the application is complete, we call all vet references to make sure their current pets are well taken care of (up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention, sterilized). If the adopter rents, we will call the landlord to make sure they are allowed to have pets and have no restrictions. We require a meet and greet with all of their current pets before adoption.
