Francine's Story

🐾 Meet Francine — or as her friends call her, Fran! 🐾

Francine came from a hoarding case in Memphis, where she lived locked in a cage with dozens of other dogs. Because of that, she didn’t get much socialization early in life and struggled to trust humans. But since joining her foster family, Fran has learned that people can be kind — and that life can be safe, calm, and even a little fun.

Fran is an independent girl who enjoys her quiet crate and doesn’t crave constant attention. She’s more of a “curious hand sniffer with occasional head scratches” kind of pup. Her foster mom describes her as funny, quirky, and perfectly content doing her own thing.

She’s fully vetted, potty trained, and would love a doggie door in her forever home so she can come and go as she pleases. Fran takes her time warming up to new people — she’s a bit skittish — but once she feels safe, her gentle, silly personality shines through.

Fran loves her freedom, enjoys running, napping often, and barking at the birds (they always seem to need a good talking-to). She gets along great with other dogs and will need a fenced yard since she has a history of being quite the little runner.

This sweet girl is looking for a quiet, patient home where she can simply be herself — no pressure, no rush, just love and understanding. For someone who appreciates a calm, independent companion, Francine will be the perfect match. 💛

📍 Fostered in Knoxville, TN
🎂 Age: 7 years
⚖️ Weight: 15 lbs
🐶 Fully vetted & potty trained
💰 Adoption fee: $50
✨ Apply to adopt: knoxvintagepetproject.com/adopt

We have a written application all potential adopters must fill out. Once the application is complete, we call all vet references to make sure their current pets are well taken care of (up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention, sterilized). If the adopter rents, we will call the landlord to make sure they are allowed to have pets and have no restrictions. We require a meet and greet with all of their current pets before adoption.
