Foxy's Story

Hi there! My name is Foxy... and I’m ready for my forever home!

If you’re reading this, I’m already wagging my tail because it means you might be my person. I’ve been dreaming about you for a long time. I haven’t had the easiest start, but I’ve never stopped believing that the right human is out there waiting for me — someone patient, kind, and excited to help me grow into the amazing dog I know I can be.

Let me tell you a little about myself.

My Past — and Why I’m So Hopeful About My Future

My previous owners weren’t bad people, but they really weren’t able to take care of a dog. Because of that, I missed out on a lot of the training puppies usually get. I didn’t learn how to read other dogs’ signals, and when I first arrived at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, I honestly had no idea how to interact with the pack. If another dog said, “Hey buddy, that’s my food,” or “I need some space,” I just didn’t understand.

But guess what? I’ve been learning! The dogs here have been great teachers, and I’ve gotten so much better at doggy manners. I’m proud of myself, and the humans here are proud of me too.

What I Know (and What I’m Still Learning)

I’m not totally untrained — I promise! I walk nicely on a leash, and I know how to sit when asked. I love people and I’m very social. I enjoy being around humans so much that sometimes I get a little too excited. No one ever taught me that I need to be gentle with my mouth, so I can be a bit mouthy when I’m happy or trying to get attention. I’m not aggressive — just enthusiastic and still learning what’s okay.

Because of that, I might be a bit much for small children. I don’t want to think I was trying to bite somebody when I just wanted their attention. I just need someone who will teach me how to be polite and patient, and I promise I’ll try my hardest.

‍ What Kind of Home I’m Hoping For

I’m looking for a person (or family) who sees my potential. Someone who understands that I didn’t get the best start, but that I’m eager to learn. I’m smart, I’m loving, and I’m ready to be someone’s loyal companion.

I don’t know if I’ve ever met a cat, so that part is a mystery. But with the right introductions and guidance, who knows?

One thing you should know: I’m a fluffy guy, and I need regular grooming. If I don’t get brushed, my coat can get matted — and I definitely don’t want that. So if you love a dog who looks sharp and doesn’t mind a spa day, we’ll be a great match.

My Health and Vet Info

I’ve recently been neutered, I’m up to date on all my vaccinations, and I’ve been microchipped. I’m healthy, happy, and ready to go home with you.

❤ï ̧ Why You’ll Love Me

I’m a good dog — truly. I just need someone who will help me polish the rough edges. I’m affectionate, goofy, eager to please, and full of love. With the right person guiding me, I’m going to shine.

If you’re looking for a dog who will adore you, make you laugh, and grow with you every day, I think we might be perfect for each other.

Want to Meet Me?

I’d love that more than anything. Please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I can’t wait to meet you and start our new life together.

Love,
Foxy

PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt.
