Foxy's Story
******COURTESY POST*******
Currently located in Pensacola, FL

Meet Foxy! This beautiful 8 year old Husky girl found herself homeless after her elderly dad’s health declined and he landed in an assisted living facility and was unable to take his girl. There was a period of time where Foxy was in another home where she wasn’t loved and cared for very much, but thankfully now she is in a loving and nurturing foster home, and has been for the past few months. Her wonderful foster mom has opened her heart and home to this precious girl, and sweet Foxy is now relearning what lots of love, care and living in a home feels like once again. She’s doing AMAZING. Her foster wanted to work through anything she felt would cause Foxy to fail in her future endeavors, and she feels she’s finally ready to begin looking for her happily-ever-after.

To know a Husky is to love one! Foxy has many of the endearing Husky traits, such as telling you how her day is going whether you want to hear it or not. She may even be a little dramatic sometimes, in a funny way, of course. Her foster mom likes to say it’s part of her charm, and doesn’t mind talking along with her! Foxy has also become a morning girl! She’s just so thankful to wake-up every morning feeling safe and loved that she’s ready to go and start her day once her eyes open, so grab your coffee and enjoy her antics, we promise this funny girl will make your day! For this reason, we feel a well-fenced backyard and a canine sibling would be a great way to help her start her day off each morning. She currently lives with two female foster dog siblings that she loves. One will even play with her sometimes. If you know Huskies, then you know they come a bit challenged in the spatial recognition area, often times misread by other dogs in their quest for a play partner. Her foster mom is working on boundaries with her, and Foxy is doing great. Everything this sweet girl does, she does with love!

As with most dogs, repetition and routine works perfectly for her. She has picked up the routine in her foster home with great ease. She’s an incredibly smart girl! She is also working on undoing her counter-surfing skill, and learning some great manners in her foster home. Her new skills include “recall,” some hand signals, she has learned the word “down,” and the word “outside,” and she will go to the door and let you know when she has to go outside. There are no limits to what this sweet girl can learn, and her foster mom is so proud of how far she has come in such a short time!

Since losing her dad abruptly, Foxy has a bit of separation anxiety. She was also never crated, and her foster mom is working on this so it hopefully won’t be a problem in her new home. However, for this reason someone that understands this, or is home most of the time would be a great fit for this precious girl. But there are plenty of accommodations that can be made for this, and did we mention she loves to ride and go with you if she can?

Foxy has had FHO surgery on both hips, but this doesn’t slow her down one bit and she enjoys every second of life and play time! And the good part is aside from that and all she’s been through, this beauty now has a clean bill of health! She’s spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative, microchipped, and even has a spa day regularly to have her bath and nails trimmed! She would make an absolutely wonderful addition to a loving and caring home, and she’ll give you back as much love as you give her and then some!

We hope to find a good match for this precious girl, and if you think you may be that match, or would like to meet her, just fill out an application at the link below and we’ll happily forward that to her foster mom who will be in touch. Please help us share this amazing girl so we can help her find her happily-ever-after.
