Meet Miller

Don’t let his cool exterior fool you – this guy is a love bug! This extremely handsome, well-mannered, and loving dog was Heartworm positive when he arrived at the shelter. Clearly, he was off to a rough start. Heartworm treatment takes time, is painful, and is quite expensive, but Miller’s treatment is complete and he is now ready for adoption!

Miller is another example of how we can save lives through Nicky’s Second Chance Fund. Additionally, fosters who are willing to go the extra mile to care for a dog in treatment are rare and always needed. We are grateful to Miller’s foster, who make a tremendous difference in his life. When our community works together, we can accomplish a great deal. Together, we saved Miller’s life, and now we can work to find him his forever family.

Please consider donating to Nicky’s Second Chance Fund or to support our Foster Program so that we can continue to bring you happy stories like this one. We will keep you updated on Miller’s progress toward finding his forever family. If you are interested in adopting him, please call the shelter at 973-386-0590 to make an appointment.

Miller is 2-years-old, extremely loving, and reported to be a hound mix (But we feel that he's a Doberman). He is shy at first but ultimately loves his people. Miller weighs about 60 pounds and we recommend he be placed in a household with children 13 years of age or older. Is he the right one for you!

We ensure all of the animals adopted through our shelter are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.

If you love animals but cannot adopt them, sponsoring an animal in our care is a meaningful way to help support the good work we do. For as little as $20 per month, you can sponsor a shelter pet and help pay for the cost of their care while they stay at the shelter. Secure your sponsorship online at njshelter.org/givenow.
