Fortune*'s Story

Meet Fortune — The Brave Heart Who’s Ready to Bloom

Fortune’s story began with survival. After spending several months on his own, this gentle soul was rescued by the wonderful Mary Humphry and brought to safety. When he first arrived at the shelter, Fortune was a very fearful dog — unsure of people, unsure of the world, unsure of what might come next.
But oh, how far he has come.

With patience, kindness, and consistency, Fortune has slowly opened his heart. Today, he will approach his trusted friends for yummy snacks, fun toys, and those quiet moments of connection that show how far this pup has come.

Fortune is dog‑friendly and would truly benefit from having another confident dog in the home to learn from. He has not been tested with cats yet, but we can do that upon request. Because he needs a little extra time to adjust to new environments, Fortune would do best in a home with older children who understand that trust grows gently, not instantly.

What Fortune needs most is a family who sees his potential — who understands that beneath his cautious exterior is a sweetheart ready to blossom into the happiest version of himself.

He has already shown us his courage. Now he just needs someone willing to show him what home feels like.

If you have room in your heart for a dog who will love you with quiet devotion, Fortune is waiting.

*In a Foster Home
