Floki's Story

Floki is an 8-year-old long-haired dachshund who weighs roughly 15 lbs. He arrived to the rescue recently, as he doesn't like children, and some are moving into his home.

He is perfect, and gets along with other dogs, cats, and is potty trained. He has been a little itchy in our foster home, so we did a cytopoint allergy shot to be safe. We are unsure if this is just his body adjusting to the Oregon environment or if he will need allergy shot moving forward.

He has his dental on April 9th, and then will be adoptable. Since this is his first dental, we expect him to lose a decent number of teeth.

He enjoys his doxie foster siblings, but does show some signs of separation anxiety when left alone at home. This could be due to his transition into rescue, but his ideal home wouldn't be gone for long hours.

To be considered for Floki, please apply on our website:

https://www.portlanddachshundrescue.org/adoptionform

Portland Dachshund Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
OUR CRITERIA There's nothing better than a successful match. We like to explain the process of finding the right rescue dog as being similar to online dating: You will want to check our site often to see who is new, read each bio and reach out if you think they might have found someone special. Our adoption team is highly skilled at helping you find a dog with the right personality that will fit your family and lifestyle. Occasionally, we receive multiple promising applications for a dog and ultimately match the dog with the home where we think they will do best. We are committed to helping you find a dog even if you don't "match" on your first attempt. We would love nothing more than to help you find the forever dog of your dreams. Although we like to tailor each match, we do have some basic criteria we look with respect to adoptive homes: *Homes should be non-smoking *Have a securely fenced yard *Ability to commit to yearly dentals and shots for the pet *Willingness to purchase ramps and pet stairs to safeguard the dog's back
