Floatry's Story
Floatry A187670
40 lb. spayed female, approx 2 years old

-This sweet girl is looking for someone patient who will let her go at her own pace. She is nervous and unsure right now, but underneath those nerves is a girl who really wants to connect.

-She walks beautifully without pulling and, with a little time and a quiet environment, she begins to show more of her personality. Once she starts feeling safe, she seeks out closeness, enjoys gentle affection, gives kisses, and even shows little glimpses of a playful side. She just needs someone who understands that trust doesn't happen overnight and is willing to let her take each step when she's ready.

-A calm, patient adopter or foster who can give her time, reassurance and a safe place to decompress could make all the difference for this sweet girl. She's trying, and I think there's a really special dog waiting to come out of her shell. ❤️

-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros

Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids

*Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

*Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

*Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

*There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

*To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

*The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30, except for Wednesday when we open at 11:30

**We ask that if you're looking to adopt, you arrive before 5:00 to be able to have enough time to meet the dog.

**1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
