What is Gem State Service Dogs & Rescue’s adoption process?

I email a potential adopter an application for adoption and once I get that back and call references, I will call to interview the applicant, if I am satisfied I will schedule the person or family to come out to meet the dog, if they have a dog I will ask that they either bring the dog with them or arrange to have a meet & greet with the dogs. If all goes well and I am satisfied and they want to move forward I will arrange to do a home check, bring the dog with me and the necessary adoption contract as well as all records for the dog, a blanket and toy that the dog is familiar with and a small bag of food that the dog has been eating. At that point is when I would leave the dog with the new family.
