Meet Flapjack & Trouble -

(Please note these 2 are located by Astoria on the coast, if you cannot pick them up we will organize volunteer transportation)

These two seniors are a delightful bonded pair. At 12 and 13 years old they are as spunky and rambunctious as puppies, and are affectionate with all the volunteers and shelter staff. Flapjack can really move in his cart and has no problem keeping up with his brother out on walks. They both love attention and will add smiles to any home without cats.
This dynamic duo doesn't seem to know they are seniors and run around like a couple of pups! This pair must be adopted together as they are bonded and will cry when separated. They are great with people but not so comfortable with cats. Flapjack has IVDD and is therefore special needs and in a puppy wheelchair. He would do best in a home without stairs. The great news is he has control of his bladder/bowels, despite having hind end paralysis. Both boys are active and in great shape for their age. These boys are the absolute sweetest, happiest boys you've ever met and it's hard not to fall in love with this dynamic duo!

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria for dogs that we adopt and that we recommend to owners whose doxies we list courtesy posts for, the sole aim of which is to facilitate a successful adoption with a forever family.

*Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time?
*Have a securely fenced yard?
*We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and *Children need to be 12 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie).
*We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc). *Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog.

Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these or similar issues.
