FISHER's Story

Where’s My Couch? — Fisher
Meet Fisher—a 9-year-old sweetheart who’s wondering how he ended up trading a cozy couch for a noisy shelter.

Fisher is a gentle, loving boy who finds joy in life’s simplest moments: soft pets, quiet companionship, and being close to his person. He’s very alert and tuned in to the world around him, noticing every little sound, which can make him a bit shy at first. But give him a little time and reassurance, and his affectionate nature begins to shine.

Once he feels safe, Fisher loves to settle in right beside you, happy just to share your space and soak up calm, peaceful moments. He may not be very interested in treats, but he does know “sit” and “paw,” and his polite manners make him an easy companion.

On walks, Fisher is a dream—he moves at a relaxed pace, enjoying the outdoors without pulling or fuss. He’s the kind of dog who reminds you to slow down and appreciate the quiet parts of the day.

Fisher would do best in a patient, loving home where he can take his time settling in and rediscovering comfort and trust. In return, he’ll be a loyal, low-key companion who stays right by your side.

All he’s really looking for is a soft place to land—and someone to share it with.

Fisher has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home. Looking for a buddy for your dog? Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we're a match! Check out his playgroup video here:

To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!
