Firefly's Story

Why choose me?<br/>Update: Firefly is a gentle dog with the sweetest face. He's put on some weight, and his coat is looking better since first arriving at the shelter. He'd stay with me in the shade enjoying pets and scratches, but when I stopped, he went to the gate and waited to return to his kennel. It broke my heart because I wanted him to have fun and enjoy himself. I walked him back to the shade, but when he left again, I joined him with a toy and threw it. To my surprise, Firefly took off running as fast as he could go to get it. I kept throwing it for him watching his fun. It made my day. Firefly is shy but sweet and shines when he has a friend to play with.<br/><br/>Firefly was already in an interaction pen when I joined him, and we hit it off right away. I was told he's shy, but he liked treats and decided pets were nice, too. I had a sweet, new friend that would come to me and follow me around. His coat needs a little TLC, but proper care will take care of that.
