According to our veterinarian, she has likely been blind for quite some time. You'd never know it watching her. She learns her way around quickly. She remembers where things are. She listens closely. "Up" means she's about to be picked up. "Touch" means cuddles - and that word makes her tiny tail whirl like a helicopter.<br/>She loves to explore. She loves walking in the grass, sniffing the new sniffs, figuring things out for herself. She loves a good meal and a warm lap at the end of the day. She doesn't complain. If she gets stuck in a corner, she makes the faintest mumble-grumble, then patiently works her way out. When she does, she pauses for a moment, looking quietly pleased, as if to say, "I've got this."<br/>Firefly was found walking down the middle of a road. A Good Samaritan brought her to safety. Her microchip told part of the story: her original owner had passed away, and she had been rehomed. How she ended up alone and in such rough shape, blind and toothless, we may never know. What we do know is that she was loved for most of her life. And she knows how to love back.<br/>And she knows how to eat. <br/>After "touch," her favorite word is "yummies." Firefly has a healthy appetite and a deep appreciation for comfort.<br/>Firefly adores other friendly pets, both dogs and cats.
