Fiona's Story

This is Fiona and she has quite a zest for life!

Even though she happens to be deaf it doesn’t break her spirit or stop her at all. She is seriously a really confident and VERY happy go lucky pup.

Fiona is estimated to be around 2 years old and she is full of life. She offers every ounce of love she has to give and only expects love and attention in return. She has not met a single person or dog that she does not adore.

She would do well with a calm, neutral dog in the home or she can be the solo dog because she absolutely loves every person she has met. Fiona definitely feeds off the energy of the other dogs in the house, so if they are chill, she is chill too, but if they are playful she’s game for that too, but since she can’t hear it would be good for the other dog to be able to politely correct her so she knows she’s too much at that moment. She seems to be fine with kids and cats. But we all know it depends on the kids and cats!

Fiona is potty trained and does well in a crate. She sleeps soundly through the night. Fiona knows sit with a hand signal and we are still working on her other cues such as down, touch, watch me and stay. She is very treat motivated and ready to learn!

———————————————————-
The adoption donation for Fiona is $250.

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention (age appropriate).

If you would like to meet this dog, you must have an approved application on file and be willing to travel to the Akron/Canton/Boardman Ohio area for a meet and greet. All of our dogs reside in foster homes. We do not have a physical shelter.

Applications will be reviewed/approved and each dog will be placed in the home that can best meet their individual need. If you live in a residence with a Homeowner’s Association (HOA) please make sure you check that the dog you are interested in does not violate size or breed restrictions. A successful adoption is our goal. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption of any dog.
We require you call your established veterinarian asap to schedule a wellness visit.

—————————-

Our applications can be found by clicking on the “adoption application” link at https://apaprescue.com or directly at: https://apaprescue.com/adoption-application

Our primary form of communication is email. Our email is run by volunteers and is not monitored 24/7.

—————
**IMPORTANT **

Please note that when you use the “start an inquiry/introduce yourself” feature it is NOT an application to adopt. Don’t waste your time clicking on it!

Adoption donation policy effective 1/1/23:

Under a year - $350 cash/check/givebutter $360 PayPal/Venmo
Adult (1-9) - $250 cash/check/givebutter $260 PayPal/Venmo
Senior (10+) - $200 cash/check/givebutter $210 PayPal/Venmo

We apologize for the inconvenience of a service fee on digital platforms. Each year we lose hundreds of dollars for their service fees, and their fees continue to rise. Thank you for helping us cover those fees. Every dollar we receive matters and those lost dollars mean less dogs we can help.

We are a 100% volunteer group that utilizes foster homes. We do not have a shelter/building. All adopters must go through an application process prior to meeting an adoptable dog. The application is designed to provide us the information to best choose a dog for your lifestyle. Each dog we take in is an individual, and will have specific needs. We will be looking for the best home to meet those needs for each dog. To apply for a dog please visit www.apaprescue.com Once we receive your completed application, we will notify you that we are processing your application. Following approval, we will schedule meet n greets and/or home visit evaluations. All of our foster dogs are cared for in homes, and started basic obedience and socialization. However, that must be continued once adoption is final. Adopters are not only expected, but required to continue routine veterinary care maintenance and prevention. We strongly encourage you enroll your new dog in basic obedience as this builds bonds and helps you understand dog behavi
