Fiona's Story

Meet Fiona!
This sweet, quiet as a mouse lady came to us from animal control. Things were obvious that she had been living in severe pain for most of her life. Chronic ear infections that were never treated left both of her ear canals "Stenotic" which means shriveled up an closed off. Infection and debris could still be present but there was no way to physically clean them anymore because of the scar tissue.
Even touching her ear flaps was uncomfortable for her. We were left with one option, a TECA BO (Total Ear Canal Ablation and Bulla Osteotomy). That is a big scary term for removing the ear canal. In Fiona's case, her ear pinna or flap was also completely scarred down so those had to be removed as well.
The surprising thing about this procedure is that the animal can still hear without canals or flaps!

Fiona is a very laid back lady who is doing very well in her foster home. She is learning the ropes of being a house dog. She is doing great with house training and kennels nicely. If you are looking for a couch potato and a dog that likes short, slow walks haha... Fiona is your gal!

She came from a poor background that we will never know or understand and she was left alone without anyone to care for her. Unfortunately, she would do best as an only dog. She is fine out in public, but she would rather not share her home with another one. If you need a best friend and a ride or die, please consider this lady!

Adoption fee is $300
Adoption applications available at rpaw.org
