Fiona's Story

Meet Fiona. She is a 5 month old puppy, all with a splash of white on her chest. She is tall with slender legs, smaller body, straight up black ears and a long pointy snout. We don't know what breed she really is, but sometimes she looks like a Whippet with tall Shepherd ears. She moves fast and sleek almost like a greyhound. She is currently 22 lbs and is not growing fast so she will likely endup on the smaller side, maybe 45 lbs. She loves to follow you around and is the first to greet and request belly rubs. She can be skittish at first, especially with new people, but she is very loyal and affectionate. She will need a special owner who has the patience to introduce her to the world at a pace she can accept. And in return, she will be the most loyal companion you could want. When she looks at you, it is with devotion. She would do best in a lower noise level house. Chaos or small kids may not be ideal for her, although she has been adaptable so far. She was afraid of many things at first, but she loves to walk so much and explore that she overcomes her hesitations. One of her favorite things is ivy. She rolls around in it like a kid in a ball pit. She does well on the leash and has been sleeping through the night in her crate. She does fine with other dogs, at first wary, and sometimes jumpy, but she enjoys the company of other dogs. She has not been exposed to cats, but when she spotted some rabbits on a walk, she perks up her ears a bit, but doesn't lunge. She does seem to lunge a bit with birds, so not recommended around chickens. She does well in the car and is respectful in the house. She tried to nibble my phone one day but I told her no and she didn't try it again. She is also quite the acrobat. She is stealthy and jumps onto surfaces or a chair like a circus dog. I think she would love to be trained to do tricks or agility. She likes to bury her long nose in trash cans, so we've been correcting that. She seems very eager to please and has been very smart about understanding a correction. She is very food motivated also. If you would like to meet Fiona, please contact us. Fiona is already spayed, microchipped and has had all her shots including rabies.
