Fiona's Story

Fiona is a 2.5-year-old, 40 lb spayed Coonhound mix who is ready to discover what it means to be part of a family. Fiona came from a situation where she lived outdoors and received minimal attention or socialization. Despite her past, she is a very good girl with so much potential. Fiona is incredibly smart, good with children, and has already started basic training at the shelter with one of our volunteers. She is learning to walk on a leash and is picking things up quickly. She is also dog friendly, although she will need proper, slow introductions with new dogs. Fiona will require a securely fenced yard, as her recall is still a work in progress. Because of her prey drive, Fiona should not live with cats or chickens. She would do best with someone who is willing to give her the patience, guidance, and time she needs to continue building confidence and learning how great life can be. Fiona has so much to offer and is just waiting for someone to give her the chance to show it.
