Fiona's Story

❤️ Fiona’s Story ❤️
Fiona is an approximately 2-year-old Pit Bull who has survived more hardship in her short life than dogs ever should.
Before rescue, Fiona was living on the streets while heavily pregnant, trying to survive on her own. Just two days after arriving safely into rescue, she gave birth to ten puppies. Despite being exhausted and malnourished, Fiona did everything she could for her babies. Sadly, when the puppies were only a week old, Fiona developed severe mastitis and had to be hospitalized away from them. Due to how malnourished she had been during pregnancy, her milk was no longer safe for the puppies, and despite being bottle fed, only two of her ten puppies survived.
Not long after, Fiona faced another setback when she developed a serious infection from bad sutures after her spay surgery and had to be hospitalized once again.
Through every painful moment, Fiona remained loving, gentle, and trusting.
Today, Fiona is finally healthy, gaining good weight, and blossoming into the happy, vivacious girl she was always meant to be. 🐾
Fiona absolutely adores people and wants nothing more than to please her person. She loves cuddles, enjoys going for walks, and has a wonderful bond with her humans. She does well on a leash and also has very good recall. When supervised outside on our property, Fiona can enjoy off-leash time and will happily come when called.
Fiona is:
✔️ Housebroken
✔️ Crate trained
✔️ Affectionate and eager to please
✔️ Good with dogs her size or larger
✔️ Somewhat submissive when first meeting other dogs
✔️ Loving, loyal, and resilient
Because of an incident involving a smaller dog — which was not entirely Fiona’s fault — we feel she would do best in a home without dogs smaller than her. However, she has been around our own Chihuahuas without issue. We would be happy to discuss the situation further during a phone call with potential adopters.
After everything Fiona has endured, she deserves a family who will give her the safe, loving life she has always deserved. She has overcome so much and still wakes up every day ready to love with her whole heart. ❤️
If you think you could be Fiona’s happily ever after, please message for more information or to apply to adopt.
Fiona is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, on flea and tick prevention and micro-chipped. $65 rescue adoption fee applies. If you would like an adoption application and to set up a meet and greet, E-Mail or call or text Lori at: 760-680-3713 Located in Anderson, Mo. More pictures and video available upon request.
