We don't know how long she'd been out there trying to survive on her own.. Thankfully, she was spotted by a kind person who secured her and reached out for help.

Gentle Fiona came to Bark Bark Wag and settled into a loving foster home. Her stray hold was completed and nobody came forward to reclaim her, so we officially welcomed this sweet young lady to our rescue in mid-August.

Since that time, dear Fiona has been learning how it feels to be part of a loving family. She's blossoming a bit more each day at her own pace. She had her wellness check, vaccines and bloodwork in August; she's heartworm negative, fecal negative and on HW, flea & tick prevention. Fiona had her teeth cleaned and was spayed next, and healed up nicely. She's been a lovely and polite houseguest, which makes us think she had a family who loved her at one time. It's been a joy to see Fiona relax at last, knowing she's adored and safe now.

Fiona is a darling Poodle and Terrier mix (best guess) with a wavy, soft and wiry coat. She is 3 years old and weighs 11#.

*She has a good appetite; she enjoys her treats and meals, and sits and waits politely for her bowl to be placed in front of her. She currently eats in her crate (since there are other dogs in her foster home), and the smarty-girl barks to come out when she’s finished.

*She is house-trained and will stand by the door to let you know she needs to go outside. Fiona enjoys time outside in the fenced yard exploring or sitting in the warm sun.

*She enjoys her walks and uses a harness. She doesn’t pull or lag behind, and walks at a good, steady pace. She has energy for longer walks or shorter strolls.

*She loves toys, and routinely pulls multiple ones out of the toy basket each day for her enjoyment! Her current favorite is a small fluffy lamb (Lambchop).

*She's indifferent to (and virtually ignores) her foster siblings (several dogs and a cat), who she sleeps in the humans' bed with. She would be perfectly happy as the only pet or could live with others, but she likely won't interact much or play with them; Fiona prefers to investigate corners of the house or follow her foster mom around.

*Fiona loves everyone, and appreciates snuggling up with you on the couch or bed. Anyone who visits her foster family's home gets a loving welcome from her, as she spins around and reaches up with her paws for a lap-sitting session or belly rub. She’s very loving and affectionate.

*Her bedtime antics are a hoot! Fiona stands in the hallway at the bedroom door waiting for her foster mom.
Once she arrives, Fiona jumps up and spins wild circles on the bed, excited like a kid on Christmas morning. Then she snuggles in as close to foster mom as she can get for sleeping.

*Fiona loves car rides and is great in the car, sitting very quietly in her crate or in the passenger seat, enjoying looking out the window.

Fiona is looking for a loving and patient adult furever family who has a fairly consistent schedule. (She's been fine with respectful kids, but will be happiest in a calmer, more predictable environment). She's a quietly joyful and loyal best friend who would be an amazing companion for the right family!

Fiona's original FB post:
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CYVVyg2h5/
