Meet Finnley, a sweet and gentle four-year-old, 20 lb. Chihuahua /Border Collie who came to us as a surrender after his owner unexpectedly got evicted from her home. Despite the transition, he has remained the same affectionate, polite companion who just wants to be near his people.<br/><br/>Finnley is a wonderful listener and already knows several basic commands like sit, come, and even high five! He walks nicely on a leash and patiently stands while you put on his harness or coat before heading out for an adventure. He enjoys walks but is just as happy relaxing at home.<br/><br/>At home, Finnley is the perfect balance of playful and mellow. He loves squeaky toys, a good tennis ball toss, and lounging on the couch getting pets. His coat is incredibly soft, and he absolutely adores gentle affection from his humans. He’s also happy entertaining himself with toys when you’re busy.<br/><br/>Finnley has lived peacefully with five cats and currently lives respectfully with other dogs in his foster home. He has shown wonderful manners around other animals and hasn’t had any issues. On walks he can be a little shy around larger or very energetic dogs, but he is submissive and simply prefers to give them space.<br/><br/>Because he can be a bit shy at first, Finnley would thrive in a quiet, patient, and loving home where he can continue to build confidence. He would do well as either the only dog soaking up all the love, or with a calm furry companion.<br/><br/>Finnley can be a bit of a picky eater and isn’t very food motivated, so he’s looking for an adopter who will be patient while finding foods he enjoys. One of his adorable quirks is that he prefers to eat when his humans are nearby—he especially likes having dinner while his people are at the table.
