His status will be changed to adopted once he is with his forever family.

*We base our adoption decisions on what is in the best interest of our dogs. Please note our adoption policies are in place for the safety and welfare of our dogs. We are all volunteers and have jobs, families, pets of our own to care for. We do the best that we can to get back to you in a timely manner. We believe in taking time to go through our thorough process to try to match the dog with the best fit for that dog.

*You must be approved to adopt Finn before we schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs.

*AGE: 9 weeks old (born March 2026)

*WEIGHT: 4-5 lbs right now. We think he is going to be in the 25-35 lb. range as an adult although we cannot guarantee his adult weight.

*FENCE REQUIREMENT: A physical fence and yard are required as we feel this would help set him up for success. No electronic/invisible fences, or e-collars will be allowed.

*COAT TYPE: He still has his puppy coat that is soft and low-shedding. We believe he will have a low-shedding wavy coat as an adult; he will need regular brushing and grooming. You should be prepared to have him groomed regularly (every 8-10 weeks) with an estimated cost of $100/groom.

*ENERGY LEVEL: High puppy energy. He has spurts of high puppy energy and then quickly settles down after long bouts of play and engagement. He is a happy and curious guy!

*DOGS: Great! He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home; he wants to play with them all of the time, but does a pretty good job of listening when another dog tells him they don't want to play. Due to the intense, playful nature of puppies, he would be best placed with dogs with a similar desire to interact and play.

*CATS: His prior home said he was great with their cat.

*KIDS: Finn loves to be around people big and small! He has a wonderful, playful temperament and has done well with kids. Please keep in mind, like all puppies, he can get a little mouthy/nipping during this phase.

*CAR: Finn did well on his ride to his foster home. He whined a little bit and then settled down. He did get a bit car sick towards the end of the ride though!

*CRATE: Finn is still getting used to his crate, but he will settle and go to sleep after 10-15 minutes. He hangs in his crate when his foster family isn't home, and sleeps overnight in it as well. He is still working on getting through the whole night and will wake up early for a potty break.

*HOUSE TRAINED: Not yet! As a young puppy, Finn is still working on his house training skills, but he is smart and is starting to catch on that when he's outside, he should go potty. We expect that there will be accidents as he transitions to his new home.

*LEASH: Finn hasn't had leash/walking experience in his foster home, but his previous home said he was doing pretty well for a puppy!

Finn-Texas is an 9-week-old male mini Goldendoodle puppy who currently weighs 4-5 lbs. He was surrendered to IDOG by his owner who loved him very much but due to the owner's child not adjusting well to having a puppy in the house, they made the difficult decision to find him a new home. Finn is a gorgeous boy who is very sweet, loving, energetic and playful. He is so cute, people who meet him think he looks like a plush toy brought to life!

Finn would do best in a home where his people are very active. He is a total Velcro dog and loves to be by his people and/or his foster dog siblings. It is important to help navigate that puppy energy with good play time and toys. Finn would do great in a home with any dog big or small, but would prefer another young, playful dog like him!

Finn has several bursts of puppy energy throughout the day. He loves playing with his toys and exploring. You should be prepared for puppy energy bursts and be ready to play and participate. He loves to play chase, tug of war and is learning how fun fetch can be! He loves it when his foster siblings participate in play time!

Another dog in his new home is not necessary but we know Finn would absolutely love it. He loves watching and learning from other dogs. Due to his young age, Finn sometimes thinks any adult dog could be mom, so he still needs some correction from his people if he is pestering his siblings. If Finn's people are active and will give him the attention and engagement he needs, he would also do just fine by himself.

The crate isn't his favorite yet, but he does settle and will sleep through most of the night. He will potty in his crate if he isn't let out fast enough. His foster family works from home and he loves nothing more than to sleep at their feet while they work. He's super curious and wants to be a part of it all, whether it be for yard work or couch lounging. He is a little space heater and prefers a cold floor to his bed to nap in.

He is a very loving puppy who loves to cuddle and play. He is comfortable with all people, young, old, new, and known. He is very content to be laying at your feet or next to you when it's time to settle down (and once puppy energy is expended). He loves human attention and wants to be close to you all of the time. Finn would excel with a family that is around throughout the day.

Finn is an incredible puppy who will need a family who can meet his energy level needs and ensure he gets his puppy energy expended. He is working on his commands and boundaries so he can be the very best boy. His new family should be prepared to continue to work with him on training.

Adjectives that describe Finn:
*Friendly
*Curious
*Silly
*Loves Attention
*Energetic
*Kind
*Playful
*Funny
*Snuggly
*Affectionate
*Cuddly

Activities that Finn enjoys:
-Tug
-Chew toys
-Plush toys
-Meal time
-Cuddling
-Playing with other dogs

A few 'needs work' items for Finn:
-House training
-Basic obedience training
-Continued socialization and ensuring his energy is expended through daily exercise

*Finn is still young and still has all his puppy teeth, you can expect some playful nipping and chewing, and he is prone to spurts of puppy energy. Due to the intense needs of puppies, we are looking for adopters who are experienced dog owners with someone home during the day, so he is provided with human interaction while continuing to work on house & obedience training. We are looking for adopters who understand the training, exercise, and socialization needs of puppies.

Finn is current on age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, and heartworm/flea tick preventives. He is heartworm and fecal negative. He is too young to be neutered. He is not yet microchipped.

IDOG will hold a $200 neuter deposit. The adopter will be required to neuter him by 12 months of age. You will need to send the vet receipt to IDOG and we will then refund the deposit. If you fail to get him neutered by 12 months of age per the adoption contract terms, you will be required to return him back to IDOG Rescue.

ADOPTION FEE: $1200 adoption fee + $200 refundable neuter deposit to be refunded upon proof of neuter by 12 months of age.

ADOPTION FEE EXPLANATION:
Puppies and highly adoptable dogs such as Finn have a higher adoption fee to help IDOG cover the vetting and expenses of the other dogs in IDOG whose adoption fees do not cover their expenses. Our expenses are very high these days due to increased vetting expenses, board and train costs, medical/health issues and surgery that is needed for some of our dogs. IDOG relies heavily on donations to bridge the gap between our adoption fees and our expenses. Unfortunately, donations are down across the board for all rescues.

TO APPLY FOR FINN-TEXAS, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application

IDOG Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
BEFORE YOU APPLY Please consider all aspects before applying to adopt a dog. Rescue dogs usually come with a few issues and we prefer applicants that have realistic expectations and dog experience. We prefer a physical fence in most cases but will consider this on a case by case basis. Please read through all the information on our website before completing the application. To adopt one of our dogs you MUST first complete our online application. We do require an interview. In addition, a home visit will be required. We only adopt dogs to families who will keep them as inside pets. If you are not willing to work with your new rescue dog and let them get to know you at their own pace, please don't apply for one of our dogs. Returning a dog within 24-48 hours of picking it up is hard on the dog. Rescuing a dog is a lifetime commitment and if you give your all, you will get a great friend in return. They need time and patience. WHO WE ARE IDOG Rescue is a national U.S. foster-based not-for-profit 501(c)(3) public charity organization and has remained in good standing with the IRS since 2006 when IDOG was created. IDOG has been offering rescue and rehome services to Doodles, Standard Poodles and Poodle mixes since 2006. We have helped over 3,700 Doodles and Poodles to date. IDOG Rescue was the first specific rescue for Labradoodles and Goldendoodles and is endorsed by both the Australian Labradoodle Association of America and the Goldendoodle Association of America. IDOG is an approved Rescue Partner in shelters across the country and has an outstanding reputation for helping Doodles in need, no matter what color, age or health status. LOCATION OF DOGS IDOG has dogs in foster homes all over the U.S. Please see the location listed in the dog's name (for example, Toby-TX is located in a foster home in TX). In most instances, you will be required to live within driving distance of where the dog is located and to visit the dog in person. IDOG does not ship or transport dogs unless this option is stated in the listing. Shipping is stressful on the dog, and stressful for the volunteer who has to spend many hours preparing the dog and the paperwork, transporting and waiting at airports. It is not simply a matter of paying the shipping charge. We will only ship a dog if we cannot find it a home near where it is being fostered. ADOPTION FEES All of our IDOGs have an adoption fee that is non-negotiable and non-refundable. OUR ADOPTION FEES RANGE FROM $100 - $750 depending on the dog. We will require the adoption fee be paid prior to or when we transfer the IDOG to its new family. The adoption fee helps IDOG with the expenses related to the care of all of the dogs in our program and is not directly tied to the expenses incurred for that particular dog. Adoption fees allow IDOG to continue doing our life-saving work as we are 100% dependent upon adoption fees and donations to cover the costs of the dogs in our care. Each dog is assessed individually to determine the adoption fee. It currently costs IDOG an average of over $400 for basic vet, grooming, and foster care on each dog; that does not allow for the ones who get sick, need surgery, have special needs, or are heartworm positive. Adoption fee covers the cost of spay/neuter, core vaccines, fecal test/dewormer, heartworm testing, heartworm/flea/tick prevention and microchipping. All IDOGS are evaluated by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. HOW TO APPLY To apply for any of our dogs, please complete the application on our website: http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application REHOMING ASSISTANCE - FOR FAMILIES WHO NEED TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR THEIR DOODLE/POODLE IDOG Rescue also provides assistance and support for people who need to find a new home for their family pet - our motivation is to get these dogs into homes that understand the temperaments and needs of these energetic, playful & loving dogs.
