Finn Beckett's Story

AFFECTIONATE, GOOFY, AND BLOSSOMING INTO THE PERFECT COMPANION!

Hi, I’m Finn!

I’m currently living in a foster home with another Great Pyrenees, Rosie, and two awesome human girls… and let me tell you, life has been getting better every single week. My true personality is really beginning shining through. I’m an extremely affectionate boy who loves being near my people, soaking up attention, and collecting all the gentle pets and praise I can get.

I do great with Rosie now. We had a rocky start, but once the calming medication from boarding was out of my system, we were reintroduced and everything has gone smoothly. We eat separately, but the rest of the time we pretty much do everything together. I’m a little nosy with her sometimes and I occasionally need a reminder to give her personal space—but I’m learning! I’m polite at doorways, I don’t mind drinking water next to her, and we share beds and bones just fine.

Speaking of bones… I do have a funny habit of gathering all the chews when Rosie isn’t looking and burying them like hidden treasure. If she ends up with two, I might bark once and then sneak off with the one she’s not chewing on. No aggression—just goofy pyr behavior and a bit of “finder’s keepers” energy.

I’m wonderful with kids, and I ride well in the car. I did drool a little from stress, but I settled down and handled it like a champ. I also manage steps—short or long—without any problem.

In the yard (and it’s a big yard!), I do great whether I’m alone, with Rosie, or with dogs and kids. I haven’t shown any interest in escaping, and I can be left for up to six hours with no issues. My foster mom thinks I could thrive in lots of different homes: a family with kids, someone with land, or even an older couple who enjoys peaceful walks and quiet companionship. I’m pretty versatile and adapt well as long as I’m loved.

I’ll admit I’m clueless about commands—but I make up for it by being incredibly adorable. I get excited during treat time because I want so badly to please, but I’m learning my manners. I just need someone patient and kind to guide me.

If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate, happy boy who’s blossoming more every day, I might be the perfect match for you. I’m ready to keep learning, keep loving, and keep becoming the best version of myself—with you by my side.

Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta's Adoption Policy
Great Pyrenees are the southeasts best kept secret. We are a magnificent and majestic breed that is one of the best dogs a family can own - we really are. We are gentle giants loved by all because we combine two characteristics that are hard to beat. First, we are terrific family pets. We are lovable and gentle with children - we love them even when they treat us like massive fluff balls! Second, and where we differ from most house pets, we are protectors. I tend to be the witty observer but my big brother Jenkins is a typical Great Pyrenees and he is amazing as he patrols our property watching for anything unusual. He takes his job very seriously. Great Pyrenees were bred as working dogs and our "job" in the home is to protect our "family". We have regular adoption days - usually every other Saturday from 11am until 1 pm at the Perimeter Petsmart in Atlanta, GA visit our website to see current adoption days

Our Mission
Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neuter...
