When he arrived, he was dealing with a significant skin infection and patchy hair loss, but with treatment and care, his coat is growing back beautifully and now shines with a healthy, glossy finish.

Finn is a medium-high energy guy who
’
s looking for an adopter with Border Collie (or similar herding breed) experience. It
’
s clear he didn
’
t have much guidance early on and likely had to entertain himself, so he came to us as a bit of a blank slate. The good news? He
’
s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and thriving with structure and training.

He
’
s currently living with two older female Border Collies in foster, and he absolutely loves having playmates to run, chase, and play ball with in the yard. He
’
d do great with another playful dog, but could also be happy as a solo pup as long as he gets plenty of engagement and activity. He loves fetch (still negotiating the
“
bring it all the way back” part when playing one-on-one!) and plays gently, taking corrections well from his foster sisters.

Finn hasn
’
t been tested with cats, but he is VERY interested in squirrels — so a home without small critters is likely best.

He adores people and is learning good manners like keeping all four paws on the floor when greeting (he just gets so excited!). Because of his enthusiasm, a home with children 7+ would be the best fit.

Training-wise, Finn has made amazing progress. He
’
s crate trained and happily trots in at mealtime to remind you it
’
s time to eat. He already knows sit, down, look, and come, and is working on wait and stay. He LOVES training sessions and is very treat-motivated. Walks are one of his favorite things, and he
’
s continuing to improve his leash skills while taking in all the sights and sounds of city life.

Despite his playful energy, Finn does have an off switch. He
’
s happy to settle down, snuggle up on the floor, and shower you with hugs and kisses during movie time. (He
’
s still practicing keeping those four paws on the floor, so no furniture privileges just yet!) He also enjoys chewing on bones and playing with tough squeaky toys.

Finn would thrive with an active family who will include him in adventures like hiking, camping, and long walks. He may even excel at activities like scent work. He
’
ll need continued positive reinforcement training to keep building his confidence and channel his intelligence in the right direction. Daily physical and mental exercise will be key to keeping this bright boy happy.

Finn is up to date on vaccines, on preventatives, and neutered.

Does Finn sound like the perfect fit for your family?
