FIA's Story

My name is Fia and I have not had the best couple of years. I was adopted from the Baldwin Park Shelter 2 years ago into a loving home. My family then lost their home in the fires, and we had to move. This was all super scary for me as I was just settling into a new life. There were many changes in the new house, and I was uneasy and frightened of the men who were working on the house. I did nip at one of them who approached me, but it wasn’t serious and mostly a “hey, I’m scared of you, leave me alone” nip. Because of my anxiety with all of this change, my owners felt that they were not equipped to care for me. This made me very sad and of course scared to be moved yet again. So now that I said my truth and all that sad sap stuff is out of the way, let me tell you how fabulous I am. I am a world class cuddler with the softest most beautiful coat. I am really affectionate and tend to crawl in laps and flash my belly for rubs. I talk/whine a lot when I want something and this is a part of my personality. I’m clean and potty trained and adore a comfy blanket or bed. An ideal home for me would be on the quieter side with no small kids around and not a lot of rushed or loud activity. I really need a stable, forever, home as well. Someone, who will be staying in their home and doesn’t move around. Staff can vouch that once I trust you, I’m like puddy in your hands. So if I’m barking at you right now through my scary kennel, its because we need a proper meet and greet so I can show you how lovely I really am. It might take 2 or even 3 times to meet, but once I know you just want to love on me, I’m all in.
