Fetty's Story

Hello everyone, my name is Fetty, as in confetti because it is time to celebrate me and I am ready to look for my forever family now! It was difficult at first because I ended up at the shelter and had dry eyes and needed some serious TLC. Luckily for me, I caught the eye of my foster and she wanted to help save me, get me better and help me find my forever home.

The rescue’s eye vet took great care of me and so has my foster mom! I’ve been getting my eyes cleaned, getting my eye drops daily and things are starting to clear up and I feel better. I am a Lhasa Apso/Terrier mix around 10 years and aside from needing just regular eye drops, I feel great. I can even run up stairs! Although going down is tough.

I am crate and house trained but LOVE short walks, I don’t need to walk for long - just enough to get some sniffs and say hello to the neighbors. I love people and am ok with other pups, but I still like my own space. I’m fine with older kids (no young children) and cats. I spend most of my time testing out new places to nap. I enjoy lots of cuddles and will never pass up ear scritches or belly rubs. I can’t wait to get them from you when I finally meet you!

If interested in possibly meeting me, please go to freedomfarmrescue.com and fill out an online application. They just like to know a little about you prior to a meet and greet.

Freedom Farm Rescue's Adoption Policy
The process of adoption begins with the completion of an adoption application. After submission, please allow for 7-10 days for you to hear from us as we run on a volunteer basis. We are looking for the perfect homes that fit our dogs' needs, so sometime it takes a while for all applications to be processed. ? ? If we feel that the home is a good fit for the dog, we will then schedule a meet-and-greet with any other pets and all of the family members who live in your home. If the family AND the rescue are ready to move forward with the adoption, we set up a home visit. ? ?At the adoption, full payment of the adoption donation is received and the adoption contract is signed. FFR will provide all necessary documentation for the dog's new family. ? We ask that all potential adopters are patient with the rescue due to the fact the rescue is volunteer run and we have lots of dogs we are finding homes for! ? We are very excited about the adoption process journey as it allows you to find your new best friend and forever companion. Please feel free to contact us before, during, and after adoption. Thanks for choosing to adopt instead of shop! Frequently Asked Questions Q: Is the dog I'm interested available? A: If the dog is still listed on our website, they are available. We try to keep our rescue search engines such as Adopt-A-Pet and RescueMe as up to date as possible, but our website is updated every day. ? Q: What are your adoption fees and what do they include? A: Our adoption donation vary per dog, so email us if wanting to know for a specific dog. They include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip, deworming, monthly preventatives, and HW test if age appropriate. ? Q: I don't live in Charlotte, NC. Can I still adopt from you? A: We do allow adoptions from outside this area. However, if two applications are both approved and similar, local applicants do get priority. Anyone adopting outside of this area must come to Charlotte for the meet and greet and must transport their adopted pup themselves. We do not arrange for shipment and the adopters must be in person for adoption. ? Q: Do you have a minimum age to adopt? If I'm not of age, can someone else apply for me? A: Yes, potential adopters must be of age 25. No, the primary owner of the dog must be the one submitting the application. We can tell when people try to get around this! : ) ? Q: Do we need a fenced in yard to adopt? A: Not necessarily. The rescue assesses each dog individually and determines whether that dog will require a fenced in yard. It will be noted in their bio if the dog requires a fenced in yard. ? Q: Do invisible fences count as fenced in yards? A: No. The rescue has a policy against invisible fences and won't adopt to homes that use them. We are happy to provide information on why we don't allow them. ? Q: What if I want an outdoor dog? A: Dogs are family members, so we expect them to be living inside with everyone else in the family. Dogs adopted through the rescue are not to be left outside unattended when the owner is away or spend nights outside. Too many bad things can happen. Dognapping, snakebites, dogs escaping, etc. - google it! ?
